Privacy policy
What data of yours meeterd touches, what for, who with, and how you get it out.
What we keep and why
What you put on your page — name, photo, barrio, how you describe yourself, your interests. It's what people see when they decide whether to come to your activity. You choose how much to put: apart from your name, all of it can be left empty.
Your date of birth — only to confirm you're 18. We store the date, we don't show it to anyone, and we don't use it for anything else.
Your email — to sign in and to tell you about your account.
What you post and write — activities, chat messages, reviews, photos and videos. Messages in a chat are seen by whoever is in that chat.
What you join — to build your plans, to show organisers who's coming, and to work out the attendance percentage on your page.
Barrio and approximate location — to show you what's near you. We work at barrio level, never at address level. We don't give your exact address to anyone, and a private activity's address only appears once you've joined. If you grant permission, your phone tells us where you are so we can work out how far each activity is from you: that happens on the phone, and that location is never sent to us or stored anywhere. Without the permission the app works the same, except you see the barrio instead of a distance.
Reports and blocks — so we can moderate. A report stores what you reported and why. We never tell the person you reported that it was you.
Technical data — app version, device model and crashes, to fix what breaks.
Your language — stays on the device, so the app opens the way you left it.
Camera and microphone — used only with your permission to take a photo or record the video you choose for an activity. You can use your library or continue without recording. Editing happens on your phone; publishing uploads your selected content. We screen images and videos with automated tools for visual content that breaks our rules; our team can also review reports. You can withdraw these permissions in system settings.
What we don't do
We don't sell your data. We don't do targeted advertising. We don't follow you across other apps or sites — meeterd doesn't use App Tracking Transparency because there's nothing to track. We don't build profiles of you from outside sources, and we don't harvest your contacts.
Who we share it with
With people on meeterd, according to what you set in Settings → Privacy.
With whoever holds an activity's link. Every activity has an invite link, and whoever opens it — with an account or without one — sees a preview: the title, the photo, the date, the organiser's first name, and the place only if it was published openly. Never a private activity's address, never who is going. The link is passed on by the people already in the activity; the organiser can renew it whenever they want and the old link stops working. Everything else — joining, chatting, seeing who's going — needs an account.
With the providers we need to run the app: hosting and database, photo and video storage and screening, sending email and notifications, and crash diagnostics. Each receives the minimum to do its part and is contractually bound to protect it as we do and not to use it for anything else.
With an authority, if a valid order requires it, or if there's a risk to someone's life.
How long
What you post lives as long as you leave it posted. The account lives as long as you keep it.
When you delete your account: your page, photos and videos, messages, reviews and activities are deleted within 30 days. Two things stay, and not for long — security logs and reports made about your account, for up to 12 months, so that closing an account isn't a way to escape a sanction; and whatever the law requires us to keep.
A message of yours in a group chat stays as "deleted user" where removing it would leave everyone else's conversation making no sense.
How you get your data out
Delete the account — Settings → Delete account. You do it yourself, inside the app, without writing to anyone.
Delete one thing — delete the activity, photo, video or review where it lives.
Withdraw a permission — notifications and location can be turned off from Settings in the app or from system settings, whenever you like, and the app keeps working.
Ask for a copy, a correction, or for us to stop using something — write to hola@meeterd.com and we'll answer within 30 days.
Minors
meeterd is for over-18s only. We don't ask for and don't want data from minors. If we learn an account belongs to a minor, we close it and delete the data.
Changes
If we change something important, we show you in the app before it takes effect.
